Hana SL MK II Low Output MC Cartridge

The Hana S Series MK II update enhances the musical performance of these moving coil designs by refining key mechanical and electrical components. At the heart of this upgrade is a newly designed tapered aluminium cantilever created by master designer Masao Okada-san. By reducing effective mass at the stylus tip while increasing overall rigidity, the generator tracks record grooves with improved precision, transferring subtle audio details cleanly to your sound system. As part of a respected range of MC phono cartridges, this model brings noticeable improvements to signal clarity and tracking accuracy.

Signal purity is preserved through cryogenic processing applied to critical internal parts, including the yoke, pole-pieces, and gold-plated terminal pins. This ultra-low-temperature treatment restructures the metal at a molecular level, resulting in reduced signal degradation and a more natural tonal balance across all frequencies.

The updated body shell features an improved non-resonant shape modelled after higher-tier Hana cartridges. Finished in a damped matte Soft Feel Black elastomeric resin paint, the housing absorbs unwanted vibrations. A heavy brass top cap incorporates direct threaded mounting fittings, providing superior mechanical coupling to the tonearm for tighter bass response and wider dynamic headroom. Configured as a Low Output option, it offers excellent signal isolation when paired with dedicated phono preamplifiers.
