The Rotel RC-1590 MKII is a reference stereo preamplifier designed to be the control centre of a high-performance two-channel system. Built to partner with Rotel’s flagship power amplifiers, it focuses on signal integrity, flexibility, and precise system management across both analogue and digital sources.
At the core of the design is a dual-mono power supply built around two in-house manufactured toroidal transformers. One is dedicated to analogue circuits and the other to digital, with physical and electrical isolation between the two. This architecture reduces interference and maintains a low noise floor, allowing each stage of the preamplifier to operate independently and efficiently.
The RC-1590 MKII supports a full range of sources. Analogue inputs include balanced XLR, multiple RCA connections, and a moving magnet phono stage for turntable integration. On the digital side, it incorporates a high-performance 32-bit / 384kHz DAC with USB, coaxial, and optical inputs, along with aptX and AAC Bluetooth for wireless playback.
Output flexibility is equally comprehensive. Dual sets of balanced and single-ended outputs allow for bi-amping or integration with multiple power amplifiers, while a dedicated subwoofer output supports more complex system configurations.
The front panel is designed for direct control, featuring a large precision volume encoder, source selection, and a clear display for system feedback. The chassis itself is substantial and well-isolated, reflecting Rotel’s focus on durability and long-term stability.
