The Weiss DAC502 MK2 takes Weiss Engineering’s studio heritage and packages it into a full-width, reference-grade digital hub for serious systems. It’s not just a DAC—it’s also a network renderer, precision preamp, and powerful headphone amplifier, with Weiss’ renowned DSP tools onboard so you can tailor playback to your room, speakers, and headphones without sacrificing resolution.
MK2 denotes Weiss’ “-4ch” hardware platform: it uses one of the latest DAC chips to deliver enhanced 2-channel performance—described by Weiss as offering higher transparency and openness—while also being designed for future 4-channel playback features via software (surround / advanced speaker layouts / 3D-audio-oriented setups).
On the engineering side, DAC502 MK2 combines an ARM processor (network/USB/control), a SHARC DSP (signal processing, sample-rate conversion and high-precision volume control), very low-jitter local clocking, robust multi-regulated power supply architecture, and discrete analog stages for both line and headphone outputs.
