Weiss DAC 204 MK 2 Multi-Format DAC

The Weiss DAC204 MK2 is a compact, studio-grade problem solver built with audiophile refinement. Designed to sit between multiple digital sources and your analogue chain, it delivers pristine, low-jitter D/A conversion and practical digital format conversion—ideal for both mastering environments and high-end home systems.

The MK2 update introduces a redesigned DAC section based on the ESS ES9028PRO with an advanced jitter-elimination circuit, plus a near-zero-ohm output stage for improved drive with difficult cables. Weiss also notes the distortion behaviour and reconstruction filters were fine-tuned by ear for the best real-world musical results.

Where DAC204 MK2 really shines is flexibility: switch instantly between USB, coax (RCA), and Toslink, convert incoming digital to balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analogue outputs simultaneously, or use it as a digital-to-digital converter with AES/EBU / S/PDIF outputs including BNC. It can also convert DSD to PCM, making it a smart bridge between modern sources and downstream digital gear.
