Product Description
Handcrafted in Italy, the IEM Twin Pulse is Spirit Torino’s first in-ear monitor—but it doesn’t feel like a first attempt. Instead, it’s a direct translation of their flagship philosophy into a portable format, built around the same idea: control the driver, control the air, and everything else follows.
At the heart of the design is the Twin Pulse Isobaric System®, scaled down for in-ear use. Rather than relying on multiple driver types and crossovers, Spirit uses two identical 10mm dynamic drivers working in perfect synchronization—effectively behaving as a single motor system.
This approach eliminates phase inconsistencies and crossover artifacts, allowing the entire frequency range to be handled cohesively. The result is a presentation that feels unusually unified for an IEM—closer in character to a full-range driver or even a speaker system.
The use of beryllium-treated diaphragms plays a critical role here. Known for its rigidity and low mass, beryllium allows for faster transient response and improved control, addressing one of the key challenges Andrea Ricci originally set out to solve: the speed limitations of traditional dynamic drivers.
Internally, the IEM is far more complex than its size suggests. A network of acoustic ducts and pressure management pathways regulates airflow, reducing turbulence and distortion while improving comfort and isolation.
This is paired with Spirit Torino’s broader “inertial frame” philosophy—using rigid materials and resonance control treatments to preserve energy and maintain clarity.
The result isn’t just technical—it’s immediately audible.
There’s a sense of scale that feels unexpected from an in-ear monitor. The Twin Pulse delivers speaker-like dynamics and weight, with bass that is deep, physical, and controlled without becoming overwhelming.
The midrange carries density and texture, presenting vocals with a natural, almost tactile presence, while high frequencies extend smoothly—detailed, but never forced.
What stands out most is the coherence. Because the entire frequency range is handled by a unified driver system, the presentation feels continuous and unfragmented—avoiding the layered, “stitched together” quality that can sometimes define multi-driver IEMs.
Spirit Torino also tunes the Twin Pulse according to Fletcher-Munson isophonic curves, aligning its response with how the human ear perceives sound at different levels.
This gives it a tonal balance that feels natural and consistent, whether listening quietly or at higher volumes.
There’s also an element of adjustability. Interchangeable filters allow subtle tuning of the sound signature, giving you the ability to refine the presentation without relying on EQ.
Despite its performance, the IEM Twin Pulse remains easy to integrate into a wide range of systems. With a 16-ohm impedance and high sensitivity, it pairs comfortably with portable sources while still benefiting from higher-end amplification.
For those looking to bring Spirit Torino’s sound into a portable setup, the IEM Twin Pulse offers something rare: not just detail or convenience, but a genuine sense of scale, coherence, and physicality.
It’s not trying to sound like an IEM.
It’s trying to sound like music—unconstrained.
