Originally designed in 1967, the Graham Audio LS5/5 is a substantial three-way monitor built to deliver an exceptionally flat frequency response. While far larger than a standard bookshelf speaker, its classic BBC-style thin-wall cabinet construction uses thin, mass-loaded panels to push resonances safely outside the critical midrange frequencies. This ensures that every note across the acoustic spectrum remains clear, transparent, and true to the original recording.

One of the most distinctive features of this loudspeaker is the slot loading on the front panel. Mounting the 12-inch bass unit and 8-inch midrange driver behind custom slots controls the off-axis response of each drive unit. This reduces directivity issues around the crossover points, resulting in a seamless acoustic transition and consistent tonal balance throughout typical domestic listening spaces.

High-frequency duties are handled by a 1-inch soft dome tweeter situated between the low and mid drivers, maintaining precise stereo imaging and smooth high-end extension. Internal Rockwool lining provides critical air damping, while hand-matched wood veneers cover each cabinet to deliver a timeless aesthetic. The protective cloth grille attaches via concealed rare-earth magnets to minimise edge diffraction effects.
