Recreated by designer Derek Hughes for Graham Audio, this traditional bookshelf monitor reproduces vocal warmth and instrumental timbre with clear, lifelike accuracy. Originally conceived for small broadcast spaces, the design ensures acoustic performances sound balanced and authentic. Whether listening to delicate acoustic sessions or complex classical arrangements, each speaker provides an uncoloured soundstage that reflects the true character of the original recording.

Classic Thinwall Cabinet Construction:

The enclosure follows original BBC acoustic principles using lightweight panel construction. Rather than relying on heavy rigid walls, the wooden panels are deliberately mass-loaded to shift resonance outside the sensitive midrange frequencies. Internally, a layer of upholstery-secured Rockwool dampens air movement inside the cabinet, keeping vocal reproduction completely clear and open.

Engineered Driver and Crossover Integration:

Equipped with custom drive units sourced from Volt and Seas, this speaker replicates historic tonal balance with modern reliability. The crossover network was designed using research from original BBC acoustic testing to create a seamless handover between drivers. A magnetically attached front grille minimizes edge diffraction, preventing treble distortion while protecting the drive units.
